Now that the new site is up an running - and looking good - the reserve reports will revert back to the home site. First up will be today's home fixture against Leatherhead. Let's see if we can produce the good football we did against top of the table Walton Casuals - come down and see!

A result that pretty much sums up how things are going at the moment. We had the lead and were the better team for long periods of the match but managed to lose the game in the last 10 mins with just seconds to go The first half was well contested and fairly evenly matched, but we took the lead after 23 minds when Ashlee James struck an accurate free kick into the penalty area and Jon Burch made the well timed run to bury the goal. Well worked and deserving on the run of play. That's how the score stayed until half time and our young team had competed well against a very tall, strong team. We had the better of the early stages of the second half but as the game went on Leatherhead started to have more possession, but we still looked threatening on the break. In this half the referee became whistle happy and the game became fractious because of it, but both teams felt the ref was a hinderence rather than a help. After 82 mins with the game still in our favour but with injured players not able to be substituted (we only had 2 subs) Leatherhead won a corner which was well struck and headed in at the back post, but should have been defended better. This goal gave Leatherhead momentum and in the 2nd min of added time we failed to clear the ball on the edge of our area and the resulting returned long speculative shot went in. Game over, literally. Frustrating, yes, but still good performances in this game and we played some very good football against strong opposition. Special mention for our youngest player on the pitch, Ben Holmes at right back who had an excellent game as did Jon Burch up front who never stopped working and took his goal well. One more game before the break ... we move on.
