With the weather taking a turn for the warmer, if not better, the away game for the reserves at North Greenford should be on, then it's a break until the New Year. So I've got an early morning drive back from Sheffield to be there, ho hum - where's a bit of frost when you need it!

The 5th strong performance in a row for the ressies, which was rewarded with a good win. We played a with a good tempo on a very sticky pitch, that wasn't by any means ideal for decent football, and the work rate throughout the whole team was high throughout the game. We took the lead after 15 mins when a good cross by Ashlee James was half cleared by their nervy keeper under pressure from Jon Burch and the ball fell straight to Sam Hutchins, who buried the ball from 10 yards. 2 mins later and the score was doubled when Charlie Oakley had his corner kick punched in the net by the keeper at the front post - another 3 mins and the keeper was subbed! Just on the stroke of half time the lead was 3-0 when the new keeper could only parry a shot from Jon Burch and George Geoghan seized the chance and struck a terrific low shot past him into the net from an acute angle - great goal The second half saw us continuing to have the majority of play but things just wouldn't fall into place until the 82nd min when Ashlee played the key ball to Jon Burch to score unmarked from the centre of the penalty area. With the clock running down NG managed to get one back when our defensive clearance was lobbed back over James in goal, which was disappointing. But 4-1 is fine. Once again a young team played with energy and plenty of skill and could have produced even more. Well done - time for a break.
