Next up for the reserves is a home game tomorrow against Hanworth Villa. The game at their ground was a close one (2-2 draw) but we will only have 3 of that squad involved in this match so should be interesting. Come and give this young team your support.

Lost 3 - 4 quite how this result came about is somewhat of a mystery we really should have been out of sight in the first half with about 5 fairly easy chances squandered, the second half was just the same only even more one sided as far are chances are concerned but goals win matches and from the 4 Hanworth created they scored 4, from probably the 20 or so we created we managed 3, including a missed penalty. However with such a young team it looks very good for the future and they can only learn from what must have been a chastening experience, very well done to all concerned as it turned out to be a very entertaining afternoon, even if the result was not what we would have liked

Pretty fair report Mike. A frustrating finish to an afternoon that showed we have the young players coming through more than capable of playing at this level of football. We created enough opportunities to be at least 3-0 up at half time, but as it was we were only 1-0 as a result of a pinpoint pass from Jay Warden to Kyle Wilkie on the left wing, whose pass found Jon Burch who lobbed the advancing keeper, after only 8 mins. Scant reward for lots of good play. The second half started the way the first half had finished and after 55 mins the score was 2-0 when Jon Burch won a flick on header (which he did all afternoon) to Ben Acton whose quick pass to the unmarked Sam Hutchins allowed him to take the ball into the penalty area and beat the keeper 1 on 1. At this stage we were well on top, however after 66 mins from an attacking position in the HV box we lost concentration and allowed them to break quickly and score. This woke us up and within a minute it was 3-1 when a great pass from Paul Dadson found Jon Burch who beat the keeper. However 6 mins later and we again managed to let them break along the right and their forward scored a good volley from an acute angle to make it 3-2. 5 mins after that we had the golden opportunity to bury the game when Jon was brought down in the box, however, the keeper guessed right and made a good save to stop Ben Acton's penalty. We continued to press play, but we began to get careless with the ball and with 2 mins to go their best player (no10) beat 3 defenders on the left of our box and they levelled the scores at 3-3. We tried to drag the game back by changing formation but with momentum going their way HV managed one last break away to get the winner. Annoying and frustrating, yes, but this young side should look at the positives in this performance where they comprehensively out-played their opponents ... better finishing (and their keeper not being in as good form) and it would have seen a very different result, but against a far more experienced team chances have to be taken as they can punish you if you allow them to stay in the game, and that's what happened. Not game is a Shield game at home to Chessington & Hook on Tuesday evening. Onwards
