Won 3 - 1 entertaining game which we really should have put to bed in the first half, when if we had a bit more composure in front of goal we should have gone in 2 or 3 up, however we took a 1 - 0 lead at half time. Playing some excellent football in the second half we well deserved to go 3 - 0 until Uxbridge were awarded a soft penalty which was duly saved by the keeper from the Uxbridge 9 who had been whinging on all game to the referee even after being booked, some justice one thought. They pulled one back near the death but a well deserved win for what looked a very young team. I've probably said this before but thought our 5 looked class, very bad on names sorry.

No 5 is Nick Lyskov who is a 1st team squad player coming back from injury. We did have a young squad out, but to be fair so did they. With a few more players to choose from after the last couple of threadbare squads we managed to put together a joined up team performance and looked a threat at the other end of the pitch which resulted in 3 decent goals. We certainly had the majority of possession and we should have been further ahead than the 1 goal at half time. The goal came after 38 mins when Ryan George made a good run into the penalty area and beat the defender to square the ball for Ashlee James to slot home. We maintained our level of performance in the 2nd half and more goals deservedly came. The 2nd was after 50 mins when Ashlee closed down the full back high up the pitch and passed the ball the Harry Derbyshire on the edge of the box and he struck a good shot home. The third goal came after 65 minds when Ashlee held onto the ball too long but managed to win a free kick on the left. George Geoghan flighted a great kick onto the head of Ryan George whose flicked header beat the keeper. Uxbridge were awarded a soft penalty, at best it should have been a free kick outside the box, but James Muir (who had a good game all round) pulled off a great save with his legs to see justice done. However, as a team we seem to give away goals at the death in games and once again we conceded in added on time with a headed goal at the back post from a free kick. 3-1 the final score and it could have been more, so no specific complaints and the 3 points are welcome. Tuesday's Shield game against Walton Casuals will be a sterner test.
